Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic

Richard Takáč

Richard Takáč was appointed as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic on 25 October 2023.

Prior to his nomination, he was elected as Member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, primarily focused on the topics of agriculture and food.

Since 2010 he was engaged in local and regional politics, serving as Member of the City Council of Prievidza, and then as Vice-President of the Self-Governing Region of Trenčín. He also worked at the Slovak Land Fund in Prievidza and led successful private company.

Born in 1982, Mr. Takáč studied Agrobiology, Food Resources and Phytotechnology at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra.
